Jim started his photographic career over 35 years ago, having studied with renowned photographers Morley Baer, Al Weber, John Sexton, Ray McSavaney and others. He is highly influenced in his work by Joel Meyerowitz and Eliot Porter. His formal education also includes 46 units of photography study at U.C. Santa Cruz.
Jim has been featured in 11 one-man shows and over 60 group shows. His exhibits have also included displays at 22 galleries including the Josephus Daniels Gallery in Carmel, the Quercia Gallery in Duncan Mills and Art & All That Jazz gallery in Healdsburg.
His work has been featured in 4 museum venues and 3 years of work at the California State Fair. He is placed in a Permanent collection at BLM Red Rock Canyon-las Vegas. He has one printed art book entitled “Rivers Edge” focusing on landscape and waterscape photography. In addition, he has been a featured adjudicator at the Amador Co. Artists Association’s Fine Art show in California.
Jim now resides in Salem, OR and is active in the Portland Photographer’ Forum and Keizer art Association.
